Subject Focus.

Our theme for this half term is Paws. Claws and Whiskers!

In science we are exploring different types of animals - sorting and grouping. Discussing our pets and how to care for them. Looking at what animals eat, using their teeth as a clue!

In Geography we are learning about the seven continents of the World. What countries would you like to travel to? What would you see there?Exploring where different animals live? Looking at where the five oceansare?

In maths, addition and subtraction within 20. Looking at multiples of 2s, 5s and 10s. Comparing numbers up to 50. Different types of measuring using non-standard units - such as cubes, hands and straws.

In English, our topic is based on traditional tales in particular 'Goldilocks and The Three Bears'.

We will continue to read with the children every day at school.

How you can support us.

You can support your children in their learning in many different ways! If you are a pet discuss how you need to take care of it to ensure it is safe and healthy. Talk about animals they see in the garden or park? Talk about what they look like? What do they eat? How are the animals similar or different to one another?

Please ensure that you read with your child everyday and make a note of this in your childs reading record book.

Please support you child with their spelling homework. The words given are tricky words that they need to know how to spell to aid their writing.

Please continue with your child to use 'TT Rockstars' using their log in's. Great and fun resource for children to learn their time tables through games.

Also, we love to hear about your childs acheivements at home too!

Please keep in touch!
