School Maintenance Officer
The governors of Cinnamon Brow CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a site maintenance officer to join our hard working and enthusiastic team. This is a permanent position.
We are looking for someone who will care about our school as much as we do, who will take pride in maintaining and improving the school building and grounds to the highest standard and who knows and understands the importance of keeping all of our children safe.
The successful candidate will need a range of skills to ensure the efficient maintenance of our learning environment but does not have to have had previous experience of working in a school as all training will be provided.
The role will include maintaining standards of health and safety including statutory obligations; carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance; decorating; liaising with contractors; ordering supplies and security of the site including key holder.
The working hours are 20 hours per week, 7:00-11:00am. However, we would want the postholder to have some flexibility at mutually agreeable times so that projects can be completed as needed. There are regular opportunities for overtime.
The role requires the post holder to work their hours both during term time and school holidays. The post includes 25 days of holiday per year which are to be taken during school closure periods, agreed with the headteacher.
The vision for our school is to support our children having hope and a bright future and the successful candidate will work as part of the team in supporting this. The post holder will be working alongside wonderful children, dedicated staff and supportive governors and multi-academy trust, parents and local church within a fantastic local community. Ideally we would like the successful candidate to start as soon as possible; however this is negotiable for the right candidate.
If you would like to come and see for yourself how great our school is and find out further information about the role, then please phone the school office (01925 821108) to arrange a visit; we would love to show you around.
Our school community places the highest priority on keeping the children safe. Applicants for all posts will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes. The holder of this post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. The successful candidate will be subject to the relevant checks and enhanced DBS, and will be required to complete a Declaration of Disqualification form.
