Bright Futures Week

As part of Bright Futures week, the children in KS1 watched a video of Mel talking about her role as as a veterinary nurse. They had a tour of the clinic and learnt about what a typical day at work looks like for Mel. Many of the children were inspired to work with animals.

KS1 also had a visit from Simon who works for the ambulance service. They loved his visit!

KS1 learnt how Simon helps people in his job. Many of the children want to help others when they are older.

Across KS1, the children drew pictures of themselves in the future working in their chosen role. They were inspired by the many visitors throughout the week.

The children in Rome class recorded their thoughts from the week and how they had been inspired.

The children in KS2 researched a chosen career. They thought about their interests and hobbies and subjects they enjoyed in school as their starting points. They found out what they would do in the role, and what qualifications they would need. It was wonderful to see them expand their possibilities as the week progressed.
